Keeping Lima Drug Free

The Lima Police Department provides officers and a supervisor to the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force (W.C.O.C.T.F.). The Allen County Sheriff's Office oversees the Task Force which covers Allen County, Paulding County and Van Wert County. The Allen County Prosecutor's Office assigns a prosecutor to work with the task force.

The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force is responsible for investigating the sales and possession of illegal narcotics. This includes targeting suspected "drug" houses through surveillance, uncovering drug buys, and information received from the citizens within their neighborhoods. The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force also investigates crimes related to prostitution and fugitive apprehension.

During the course of these investigations, the task force works in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation (BCI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Marshall Service, along with other local, state and federal agencies to ensure a safer community.
