Utilities

The City of Lima's Utilities Department is responsible for drinking water, waste water and refuse services. 

We are the largest department in the City of Lima.  The department is made up of 6 different divisions:  Administration, Field Services, Customer Service, Wastewater Treatment Plant, Water Supply and Treatment and our Data Systems Group. With all of the divisions combined the department has around 90 employees.  

The City's Utilities Department is a network of five up-ground reservoirs with a capacity of approximately 15 billion gallons of water, 3 river pump stations-2 on the Auglaize river and 2 on the Ottawa, a water treatment plant with a 30 million gallon a day capacity, a wastewater plant with a flow of 70 MGD, 32 sewage lift stations, approximately 500 miles of watermains, 5 elevated tanks, around 3,900 fire hydrants, 24,000 meters and other facilities that are designed, operated, maintained, repaired and replaced for a single purpose......to provide access to safe, reliable and life sustaining water every second of every day.
